• Have you checked on BIOS if SATA is enabled as AHCI (true SATA support) or IDE?

• There does not seem to be any option to enable SATA, nor AHCI for that matter.

  If someone can tell me where I find these options that would be helpful, but I am wondering if I need to upgrade the BIOS. And if so how do I do this?

• I downloaded the BIOS as the date is certainly more recent than mine, however when I run winflash it all seems to update properly, reboots, and then the BIOS has not changed. What am I doing wrong?

• Thanks you're right I was already on R01-C0 which is the same as the one downloaded which is why nothing changed.

  So updating my BIOS is not an option, as its already the same as the one available on acer.com, any other ideas how to resolvethis anyone?
